Comparison (Structured Water vs Other Types of Water)
What Is the Difference Between Structured Water and Other Types of Water?
Structured water is pure, fresh, natural water that is found in glaciers, lakes, streams, and rivers all around the world. Also referred to as hexagonal water or magnetized water, structured water is the water that our ancestors drank.
Because of its unique hexagonal molecular structure, structured water is a hydrophilic form of water which allows it to be more hydrating than other types of water. This is because it more closely resembles the water that is inside of our bodies and cells, therefore it is more easily absorbed.
Although people have been drinking this water for thousands of years, with the advent of readily available filtration systems, chemical purification, and water processing centers, we no longer have easy access to this incredible type of water.
That is why we at Somavedic created the Somavedic Vedic purification system. Our proprietary technology is capable of structuring water up to 8 inches away within 20 minutes. Simply leave a pitcher of water next to your Vedic and in no time your water will be more hydrating, will taste purer, and may have a positive effect on your cellular regeneration.

What Is Structured Water, and Why Is It Special?
Structured water is the water of life. It is the water that exists in the cells in our body, and it is the untouched, unmodified water that can be found in nature. Although we have known about the restorative properties of natural spring water for centuries, it was only recently that we truly understood what makes structured water so special.
Dr. Gerald Pollack discovered the “fourth phase of water” which he dubbed the Exclusion-zone water or EZ water. Also known as structured water, this type of water was discovered to have a unique hexagonal molecular shape that wasn’t found in any other type of water.
It is believed that due to its shape that more closely resembles the water in our bodies’ cells, it is able to be processed more efficiently and completely unlike other types of water that simply pass through our systems.
The hexagonal shape combined with an optimal pH balance may be what makes structured water so much more hydrating and beneficial for us.
The Importance of Hydration
The importance of being properly hydrated can’t be overstated. Everyone is at risk for dehydration if they are not conscious of their water intake, and according to a recent study, 75% of people are chronically dehydrated.
People naturally lose water throughout the day due to sweating and urination, but water loss can be more significant if you are sick, work outside in the sun, or are an athlete. It is recommended that people get at least 92-124 ounces of water a day at a minimum.
The type of water that you drink matters too. By drinking sub-optimal water, such as tap water, alkaline water, or distilled water, you increase your chances of dehydration even when you think that you’re drinking enough.
This is because your body cannot properly process these fluids, to the point that the majority of the water that you drink passes straight through your system without any benefit. It’s also why you can feel thirstier after drinking some types of water.
Everyone knows that severe dehydration can cause several medical problems, but even being mildly dehydrated can cause many of the symptoms that people experience day-to-day including:
- Dry mouth
- Increased thirst
- Dry and itchy skin
- Decreased urination
- Dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting
Drinking structured water on a regular basis may be instrumental in helping people hydrate properly.
Are Structured Water and Alkaline Water the Same?
Alkaline water is not the same as structured water. Alkaline water has an extremely high pH level which is typically obtained through a process called electrolysis through an ionizer.
It is believed that through this process, the more acidic molecules of the water are separated from the alkaline ones, and the acidic ones are then filtered out. It is a type of filtered water that inherently destroys the hexagonal patterns of the molecules that make up structured water.
Alkaline water has a higher pH balance than regular tap water, which had led to some belief that it may be beneficial in reducing acid levels in your body. A recent study showed that there may be some benefit in helping people that suffer from acid reflux on a regular basis.
While some people may benefit from drinking alkaline water, drinking it regularly may cause dry, itchy skin and an upset stomach due to the disruption of stomach acid. It should also be avoided if you have any history of kidney disease.
More research needs to be done on the benefits and risks of alkaline water.
Is Distilled Water the Same as Structured Water?
Distilled water is different from structured water. Whereas structured water is water that hasn’t been altered from its natural form, distilled water is actually a byproduct of water.
Distilled water is created by boiling any kind of water, collecting the condensation that is created by the process, and cooling it back down again to return it to a liquid. It is believed that this process completely removes any of the impurities that may have been present in the water.
Unfortunately, the distilling process also removes virtually all of the minerals that were in the water, leaving behind a flat, bland taste. Additionally, since there are almost no minerals present, it is harder to get hydrated from distilled water due to the lack of electrolytes and potassium.
Is Distilled Water Safe to Drink?
There is no immediate risk to drinking distilled water, but you should only drink it in emergencies. Since the minerals, micronutrients, and even salt have been removed from the water, there are few, if any, benefits to drinking it.
It will not properly hydrate you and may even lead to fatigue, heart disease, and cramps if you drink it for an extended period of time. It will not replace any minerals that are lost naturally through urination or sweating.
Distilled water can even leech the minerals from your body, primarily your teeth. Because of the way that it is purified, the molecular structure of distilled water is compromised which leads to it being an inadequate form of hydration.
What is Tap Water Considered?
Tap water is not structured, distilled, alkaline, or any other type of specialty water. It is simply the local water that is available to your city or town. In most cases, it is filtered or has been chemically treated to remove impurities, sediments, bacteria, and chlorine.
Most cities will also add fluoride to their water supply at their processing plant in an effort to promote healthy teeth. There is no guarantee that tap water will be properly filtered, however, particularly if you live in an old house or small town with little regulation.
Bottled water is a step above tap water because there is some guarantee that the water has been purified, but in many cases, the majority of the minerals have also been stripped from the water in this case.
Dead Water vs. Living Water
The term dead water refers to any water that has had its minerals, vitamins, and nutrients removed. This can be through distillation, a chemical filtration process, or the reverse osmosis process.
The majority of the water that most people drink is dead water. The water that comes from your tap is dead, as are bottled water, and distilled water. Just like everything else in nature, water is can be alive or dead.
Structured water is, as far as we know, the only type of water that can still be considered alive and full of energy. This may be the key reason why it can provide better hydration and so many potential health benefits compared to other types of water.
Is Structured Water Safe to Drink?
Out of all of the above options, structured water is the best choice. Unlike the other types of water, it has not been filtered, processed, or chemically treated so it is the closest to the pure water that you would find untouched in nature.
We understand that many people are hesitant to drink natural water, however, due to the fear of microorganisms, impurities, and potential pollution. It is extremely common now to have some sort of filtration device in your house either attached to your faucet or stored in your refrigerator.
This is where we come in. Our Somavedic Amber is 4x stronger than our Vedic model and is capable of structuring water within 8 inches of it within 15-20 minutes. This allows you to have access to pure, natural, super-hydrating structured water at all times.
Created from semi-precious and precious gemstones, the Amber also provides a 100ft field of protection from EMF energies, 3G, 4G, and 5G adverse effects, and helps activate the body’s self-healing processes.
What Are the Potential Benefits of Drinking Structured Water?
It is believed that structured water has more energy, life, and restorative properties than any other type of water due to its unique hexagonal shape and closeness to nature. It is water that is uncontaminated and largely untouched by human intervention.
There have been studies on its incredible benefits in agriculture and on the food that has been grown with it. It helps conserve water by 20-30% due to its super-hydrating nature, saves the plants energy by being more easily absorbable, and improves the taste and quality of produce that has been grown with structured water.
The benefits don’t end there either. Recent research has shown that structured water may have the ability to suppress certain cancer cells while improving the function of healthy cells. In addition, structured water is believed to offer the following benefits:
- Enhance sleep quality
- Increase energy levels
- Promotes a healthy immune system
- Reduces inflammation in muscles and joints
- Enhances skin elasticity and skin complexion
- Heighten concentration and improve memory
- Helps promote the maintenance of a healthy weight and weight loss
- Increases digestion, nutrient absorption, and helps to stabilize blood sugar levels
Although research is still being performed on the extent of the potential benefits that structured water can provide us, the evidence so far is compelling.
When our cells are able to utilize the same water that already exists inside of them, they are able to function more efficiently. This may allow them to regenerate at a higher level, fight infections, inflammations, and disease more effectively.
Should I Only Drink Structured Water?
There is no limit to how much structured water you can drink, however, you do not need to drink structured water exclusively. You will still get the beneficial effects from regularly drinking structured water if you occasionally have bottled or tap water.
That said, the more frequently that you drink structured water, the more efficient your body has a chance of being. For the best results, we recommend drinking structured water over any other type of water whenever it is available and you know that it is free of contaminants.
Can I Make Structured Water At Home?
Until recently, structured water was something that could only be found in nature. You would have to go to a running stream, river, waterfall, or dig deep into a glacier if you wanted to get the benefits that structured water offers.
